OpenChain Around the World – Seminar Snapshot

OpenChain was at CES 2020 and – beyond hosting a booth with volunteers – we took the opportunity to host a physical meeting of the OpenChain Automotive Work Group. This was a great opportunity to meet some of the people behind the global growth of our industry standard, and to share knowledge about how open source governance works in the automotive space. OpenChain Around the World – Seminar Snapshot

OpenChain will feature in the forthcoming seminar from DLA Piper, GTC Law Group and Synopsys entitled ‘The 2019 Open Source Year in Review.’ The seminar will be held on the 24th of January and alongside OpenChain you can get up-to-date on topics such as:

Lyra Infosystems has been an active participant in the OpenChain community for several years and – beyond conformance – has actively contributed to the development of our standard for open source compliance and the reference material to support it.

Announcement: OpenChain Germany Work Group – First Meeting – 6th of February

We have great work groups in China, Japan, Korea, India and Taiwan. It is time to get started in Germany!

Our first meeting will take place on the 6th of February at the Siemens offices in Nuremberg. Our goal is to bring together 10~20 people to discuss what is needed in the German market for OpenChain as a standard and compliance as a practice. 

We have some exciting topics to talk about:

  • Welcome & Introduction
  • OpenChain as an ISO standard
  • Developments in our regional groups
  • Developments in our global automotive work group
  • Discussion of focus topics of the German work group
  • Wrap up & Next steps

The goal is to provide a platform for everyone in Germany to quickly sync, share notes and save time across all aspects of open source compliance.

OpenChain Automotive Workshop @ CES 2020

The OpenChain Automotive Work Group is holding a workshop at CES 2020. It takes place between 18:30 and 21:00 on the 9th of January at the ‘St. Croix B’ room in The Mirage Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.

This will be a great opportunity to meet some of the people behind the global growth of our industry standard, and to share knowledge about how open source governance works in the automotive space. The attendees and speakers will include some of the people central to this field. Whether you are seasoned or you are new, this is the right room to enter.

OpenChain Japan Work Group Meeting #12

OpenChain Project Japan workgroup held the 12th meeting at NEC on December 19th.

This meeting was special for us because it marked the two year anniversary of our activity. We were also delighted to welcome so many overseas visitors such: Kate Stewart, Thomas Steenbergen, William Bartholomew, Oliver Fendt, Michael C. Jaeger, Arun Azhakesan, SZ Lin, Haksung Jang, Wonjae Park, Han Jiho and other Korean friends.

Haksung Jang, Han Jiho and Thomas Steenbergen kindly shared their excellent works and knowledge with us. Of course our project general manager Shane Coughlan gave the opening speech. We shared case studies from many companies.

Many thanks to all the participants, and special thanks to Shima-san, Yoneshima-san and Yamamoto-san from NEC for their great efforts for hosting the meeting.
